Pardon the cumbersome subject. Functional Design & Engineering has produced a working proof of principal prototype of a novel WECS point absorber buoy. It was built and deployed for a successful test off the coast of Santa Barbara. These Wave Power Conversion Spar Buoy Engines are an efficient, low cost means for scavenging mechanical power from a passing ocean wave without regard to its direction or period. Each of these machine design has one moving component; an enclosed prime mover piston. Possible output for these devices is AC or DC electricity, high pressure hydraulics or gas. This machines' design, as well as other configurations, will be presented.
