Position: Director of Global Sales & Marketing

Location: San Diego, CA Salary: Open depending on experience

Position Role: The Director of Global Sales & Marketing will report to the CEO. This position is responsible for building and continuing successful partnerships with our customers by consulting with and providing sales and marketing direction. Duties include fact finding, understanding the proposed user and intended use of products, and using significant judgment in providing appropriate guidance. This role is the main voice of the company and represents the company in phone interactions and written correspondence with customers.

The Director of Global Sales & Marketing will develop and implement strategic sales programs that promote business growth, while executing ongoing sales strategies. A focus of this position will be to grow sales in the area of DOD, prime government contractors and universities. A high level of professionalism and technical knowledge is necessary to properly understand, interpret, and provide solutions for the needs of the customer. Use of technical drawings, websites and professional dialogue is fundamental to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create sales quotations, enter orders, coordinate shipments with customers and logistics
  • Monitor Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) requirement for annual blanket order projections
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Marketing & sales material development and updating
  • Actively update Facebook, YouTube and other social media accounts
  • Actively monitor competitive social media and identify best practices
  • Coordinate and participate in domestic and international trade shows
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 6-8 years of experience in sales and relevant subsea industry experience
  • Mechanical, manufacturing or electronics knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication, skills both written and verbal, are critical in this position.
  • Knowledge of and experience with DOD and government prime contractors
  • Demonstrated success in conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestic and international approximately 10-15% for field coverage and trade shows.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Likes technology and loves working with people
  • A self-starter who can work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Experience with Social Media
  • Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
  •  Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to supervisor direction; Takes responsibility for own actions
